Leiomyomas are benign soft tissue tumors of smooth muscle origin, most found in the uterus [1-2]. Extra uterine leiomyomas presenting as an abdominal mass is a rare issue and often diagnostic challenge [3].

Leiomyomas are benign soft tissue swellings of smooth muscle origin, most commonly found in the uterus. Extra uterine leiomyomas presenting as an abdominal mass is often a diagnostic challenge as such occurrence is rare. We present a rare case of primary abdominal wall leiomyoma, and highlight the importance of laparoscopic approach in the diagnosis and treatment of such tumour.

A case of migration of a gravid female roundworm into the peritoneal cavity is reported. The presenting feature, a lump in the anterior abdominal wall, has not previously been documented. Fertilized ova of the worm were found in miliary peritoneal granulomata, and showed development up to the eight-cell stage.
